Classwork and homework, explained again
The tutor works from your child's textbook and copies, closing gaps the class moved past.
Grade 1 to A Level, IB and entrance tests
One-to-one help from the early grades to A Level and IB, plus preparation for entrance and admission tests. Tell us the class, the subjects and the schedule, and we introduce independent tutors who teach that level, at your home in Lahore or online. You pick the one your child works best with.
Who this is for
The reason behind a request shapes who we approach. A tutor for a struggling Grade 4 reader is a different person from an A Level physics specialist.
What to expect
Sessions are built around your child's own school work first, so the tutor pulls in the same direction as the classroom.
The tutor works from your child's textbook and copies, closing gaps the class moved past.
Finding the earlier idea that never landed (fractions, tenses, balancing equations) and fixing it properly.
Past papers, marking schemes, timing and how to read a question, from Grade 8 onward.
A fixed slot your child can rely on, with short homework between sessions to keep momentum.
A brief message after each week on what was covered, what is improving and what to watch.
The same request means different things at different ages. Here is how tuition usually looks from the early grades to A Level and IB, and what to tell us so we approach the right people. Availability always depends on finding a suitable tutor for the subject, the level and the format you want, and we will tell you plainly if we cannot.
| Level | What tutors typically help with | How sessions usually run |
|---|---|---|
| Grades 1 to 5 | Reading fluency, handwriting, spellings, number facts, homework habits | 45 to 60 minutes, three or more days a week, one generalist tutor |
| Grades 6 to 8 | Maths and science foundations, English writing, Urdu, study routine | About an hour, two to four days a week, one or two tutors |
| Matric and FSc (Class 9 to 12) | Board syllabus coverage, past papers, numericals, English and Urdu essays | One hour or more per subject, subject specialists, intensity rising before boards |
| O Level, IGCSE and GCSE | The exact syllabus (Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel), past papers by topic, exam technique, coursework where relevant | Per-subject slots, often twice a week each, specialists who have taught the paper |
| A Level | Depth in two to four subjects, past papers under timed conditions, university-relevant grades | Longer sessions per subject, specialists only, planned across both years |
| IB: PYP, MYP and DP | Unit work and the skills behind it in the younger programmes; Diploma subjects at Standard or Higher Level | Per subject, with tutors who know how the IB assesses |
| Entrance and admission tests | SAT, MDCAT, ECAT, and school admission tests up to O Level | A focused block before the test date, with timed practice |
The goal at this age is confidence and habits, not marks. A good primary tutor reads with the child, fixes the two or three ideas that are causing trouble, and makes homework a calm daily routine. Tell us if the issue is reading, maths, or simply that homework has become a fight. For first letter sounds and early reading, see phonics and early literacy with a Montessori educator.
This is where gaps start to compound, especially in maths and science. Tuition here is mostly concept repair and building a study routine before the board or Cambridge years. One tutor can usually cover the core subjects.
Board exams reward syllabus coverage and past-paper practice. Tutors who currently teach the same board in a Lahore school know the paper patterns and the marking. Start early in Class 9 rather than in the final term of Class 10; the same applies to FSc.
Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel tuition is subject-specific and technique-heavy. Ask us for tutors who have taught the exact syllabus, and share the exam series you are aiming for. O Level and IGCSE cover similar ground, but the syllabuses and papers differ, so tell us which one the school follows. GCSE is the UK qualification, for students on a British curriculum, often online. For A Level, plan the two years together so the tutor can pace the content and leave time for timed practice.
The International Baccalaureate runs its own programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). In the younger programmes, tuition is mostly about the unit work and the skills underneath it, such as research, writing and maths fluency. In the Diploma, students take each subject at Standard or Higher Level, and tutors usually work subject by subject towards the final exams. Tell us the programme, the subjects and the level.
Yes. We match one-to-one tutors for university entrance tests and for school admission tests, at home in Lahore or online. As with every request, it depends on finding a suitable tutor for the test and the time you have before it.
| Test | What it is for | What a tutor works on |
|---|---|---|
| SAT | Admission to universities abroad that accept it; taken digitally, with test centres in Lahore | The Reading and Writing section and the Math section, with timed practice |
| MDCAT | Admission to MBBS and BDS programmes in Pakistan | The tested subjects, at speed, with past-paper practice |
| ECAT | Admission to public-sector engineering universities and colleges in Punjab; run by UET Lahore | The tested subjects at speed, including practice in the computer-based format |
| School admission tests | Entry to a new school at any class up to O Level | The school’s subjects and format for that class |
We match tutors for admission tests at any class up to O Level, at whichever entry points each school uses (Aitchison College, for example, admits only at set classes). Schools include:
We name these schools only to show which admission tests we can help with. We are not affiliated with any of them.
If you live outside Lahore, or would rather skip the travel, the same levels are available through online tuition with tutors from across Pakistan. If you are teaching at home full time rather than supplementing school, see homeschooling support instead.
Service request
Tell us the class or level, the subjects, whether you want home or online tuition, where you are, the schedule that works and your monthly budget. Curriculum and exam-board details can wait until we talk.
Good to know
Yes. Cambridge O Level, A Level and IGCSE requests are common, particularly for maths, physics, chemistry, biology, economics and English, and we match tutors for Pearson Edexcel and GCSE too. Tell us the exact syllabus codes if you know them, and the exam series you are aiming for, so we can approach a tutor who has taught that paper.
Often, yes, for the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. IB tutors are fewer than Cambridge or board tutors, so tell us the programme, the subjects and, for the Diploma, whether they are at Standard or Higher Level. We will say honestly what the network can offer, at home or online.
Yes, one-to-one, at home in Lahore or online. Tell us the test, the date you are working towards and the sections that worry the student most. School admission tests are covered too, at any class up to O Level.
Fees vary by level, subject, the number of sessions a week and the tutor's experience; A Level sciences generally cost more than primary support. Fees are agreed monthly and directly between you and the tutor. We ask your budget first and only introduce tutors who work within it.
Not as a standard service, but occasionally someone suitable is in the network. Send the request and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Class, subjects, home or online, schedule and budget. Send them once and we do the searching.
